making things straight

Observing Pancho, a mexican handyman, I have learned how to make straight slingshots. These mysterious ancestral-looking constructions keep the secret of equilibrium, balance, strength, straightness, softness, malleability, as well as precariety.

The final pieces are a number of combinations of sculptures, made of bricks, stones, wood, nylon string (from the banana fields). The following material is the result of some time of research spent with him, filming and documenting, and my interpretation of some tryouts of slingshots customization.
